BSD (Bakersfield Smooth Dancers, Inc.) has dances on the
fourth Saturday of the month except in November and December. Upcoming
Dances These are great dances.
Some are formal. All have nice decorations with snacks and food and
drink. Members take turn hosting these wonderful, wonderful
dances. They are held at the Rasmussen Center, 115 E. Roberts Lane from
7:30 to 11;00. Free to members. Guests $15.00.
Also free to members is a weekly dance lesson by
Dan Goss a professional dance instructor. Taught every Tuesday from
6:30 to 7:30 at the Fairfax Grange,
4 Fairfax Rd., at Brundage. Advanced group lessons follow at 7:30 to
8:30 for a reasonable fee.
Another freebee is our Wednesday evening dance
practice from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Norris Rd Veterans hall.
Every Friday evening we have a nice dance at the Grange,
$5.00 for two hours of
"fun dancing." from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M.
Our New Years Eve Dance is a formal dance with a
catered champagne breakfast at Midnight. Held at the Womens Club,
downtown. Have you made your reservation? Susan
Salvucci and Jill Calcatera can
save you a place.
We host a 3 day dance convention in March.
This get together is called "The
State Board." All NSD chapters come and we have seminars,
meetings, competitions, and the
Queen's Coronation. We eat a lot but we dance off all of the
calories from Friday evening to Sunday morning.
